Seagen Monopiles

SeaGen is the name given to the 1.2MW tidal energy convertor that is currently operational in Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland. The turbine regularly delivers its full rated power into the NI grid; as such it is accredited with OFGEM as a UK generating station. Initial tests indicate an excellent Load Factor of over 50% - i.e. average output exceeds half the rated output. MC Construction were requested to construct a number of grouting piles and transformer tubes for this project along with grouting platforms and other ancilliary items.
